Effectiveness of life training skills on marital satisfaction of female nurses in Hajar Hospital in Shahrekord city- a clinical trial
Abstract
Background and aims: Marital satisfaction is one of the related factors to nurses’ mental health and job stress. This study was done to determine the effectiveness of life training skills on marital satisfaction of female nurses in Hajar Hospital. Methods: In this semi-experimental study, the population of study consisted of all female nurses in Hajar Hospital (2011). The sample included of 43 nurses who were selected through purposeful sampling. The questionnaires used in this study were demographic questionnaire and marital satisfaction questionnaire of Enrich. At the beginning and one month after the life skills training sessions, nurses fulfilled the marital satisfaction questionnaire and data were analyzed in two stages. Results: This study showed that the mean score of the total marital satisfaction before and after the training was 135.09±23.6 and 179.93 ±22.75 respectively. Which was a significant difference (P<0.001) therefore training life skills improved marital satisfaction. In demographic parameters, age had the only significant relationship with marital satisfaction(r=-0.498, P=0.018). Conclusion: Life skills training were effective to enhance the marital satisfaction of female nurses. It is suggested that life skill training program should be performed on a regular basis for married nurse.
