Care routines of families of children with cerebral palsy
Abstract
Aim: to know families care routines of children with cerebral palsy. Method: a descriptive and qualitative research. Twelve families were interviewed between June and July, 2013 through a semi-structured questionnaire at a rehabilitation institution for people with disabilities. There was a content analysis, grouping the interpretation of similarities and differences in the light of family routines approach. Results: two categories emerged: care routines: daily needs for hygiene, feeding, medication and transportation; and care routines with therapies and school attendance. Final considerations: families care routines are organized according to therapies’ priority considered as crucial for the child's future
