Abstract

The process of the category of space formation in the picture of the cross - cultural worl d and in the li n guistic picture of the world of the English and Russian native speakers is considered. The national peculiarities of the comprehe nsion of space as the human environment are described. The possibilities of the category realization in the abo ve noted languages are analyzed.
