Given the importance of knitting fabrics as one of the types of clothing fabrics, attention must be paid to achieving the best functional and aesthetic properties by using core spun yarns with different raw materials with distinct natural and physical properties of poly acrylic and wool sheath with polyester core, using a modified ring spinning system, using the weft knitting method on circular machines with knit structures; single jersey, rib and interlock . By applying analysis of variance it has found that there is a significant effect of the studied factors on properties of Number of rows / inch - Number of columns / inch - Fabric thickness (mm), Weight per square meter (g), air permeability cm3/cm2.w ,bursting strength (KPa). Fabric Width (cm), Water Absorption (s), spirality Angle (°)Stitch length (mm) – longitudinal and transverse shrinkage (%). The quality assessment was performed by calculating the quality factors of the produced fabrics. The samples produced with acrylic material achieved a relatively better quality factor and better performance properties than those produced with wool. The required specifications for threads in the knitting industry are that they should be of high flexibility - have high uniformity - have bendability to form stitches - that the thread is characterized by sufficient strength required - the twisting force in knitting threads is no more than 3.6 except in special structures in the case of weft knitting It ranges between 2 - 3.2.
