Evaluating the ability of increasing volatility of rice export output -In case of Vietnam’s RiceExport Enterprises
Abstract
Vietnam’s rice export value has dropped though the country has been known as one of the rice exporting powers. In addition, the competition among rice-exporting countries is rising because of an increase in the rice output of regional countries. Therefore, using the quantitative research method of Binary Logistic Regression, this study is conducted to figure out what factors affecting rice export output. The study found 3 statistically significant factors which have impact on rice export output. They are Relationship building, Rice export price and Macroeconomic policies, of which, relationship building has the strongest positive correlation (β0 Building relationships = 1.846), the other 2 factors have negative correlation (β0 Price= -0.991 and β0 Macroeconomic policies= -1.278). 2 factors have no correlation with export rice output are Rice grain quality and Marketing capability. The research findings are strategically meaningful to managers of some rice export enterprises in particular and agricultural export enterprises in general. The managers can rely on the impact level of these factors to moderate the export management and regulate the volatility of rice export output
