Influence of Natural and Climatic Conditions on Distribution of Population of the Republic of Kalmykia

Abstract

The article puts into focus principles of the Republic of Kalmykia population distribution in natural and climatic zones. For the first time maps of arid zones and population density have been compared. The article contains also a comparative analysis of rural population density in the districts of Kalmykia in 1970 and 2010.
