LAS CONSECUENCIAS DE LA COVID-19 EN LAS PERSONAS MAYORES: EL CASO DE UN CENTRO DE ACTIVIDADES DE LA CIUDAD DE ZARAGOZA / THE CONSEQUENCES OF COVID-19 IN THE ELDERLY: THE CASE OF A SENIOR ACTIVITY CENTER IN THE CITY OF ZARAGOZA

Abstract

The article aims at knowing the emotional state of the elderly as a consequence of covid-19 in the city of Zaragoza (Spain). From a quantitative methodology, based on the administration of an ad hoc questionnaire, this research explores how older people have felt during and after the confinement period, how they have complied with mobility restrictions, as well as what support they have requested and / or received. The analysis shows the situation of special vulnerability in which this group finds itself and the need to reactivate actions that have been paralyzed, as well as to incorporate the “new” needs, all with the ultimate aim of stopping the deterioration of the elderly. El artículo va dirigido a conocer el estado emocional de las personas mayores como consecuencia de la covid-19 en la ciudad de Zaragoza (España). A partir de la administración de un cuestionario elaborado ad hoc, la presente investigación explora cómo se han sentido las personas mayores durante y después del período de confinamiento, cómo han cumplido las restricciones de movilidad, así como qué apoyos han pedido y /o recibido. El análisis evidencia la situación de especial vulnerabilidad en la que se encuentra este colectivo y la necesidad de reactivar acciones que han quedado paralizadas, así como incorporar las “nuevas” necesidades, todo ello con el fin último de frenar el deterioro de las personas mayores.
