Os destinos da diferença sexual na cultura contemporânea The fate of sexual difference in contemporary culture

Abstract

Parte-se de uma reflexão sobre as mudanças ocorridas no campo das sexualidades como conseqüência do movimento feminista nos últimos 50 anos, principalmente a ruptura das fronteiras entre homem-público e mulher-privado, para, a partir daí, demonstrar como deslocamentos do feminino em meio à crise do masculino constituem um novo topos para pensar a diferença entre os sexos na cultura contemporânea. Em seguida, com base em algumas das principais teorias sobre a questão da diferença na atualidade, procura-se pensar que não estaríamos nem mais em um território totalmente ancorado na 'dominação masculina', nem tampouco em um terreno caracterizado pela total 'indiferença'. Uma nova possibilidade de diferenciação se anuncia e com ela um novo esboço do feminino.This study starts out considering the changes which have occurred in the field of sexualities as a consequence of the feminist movement of the past 50 years, mainly the collapse of frontiers between man-public and woman-private. From this point, it demonstrates how the displacements of the feminine, in the midst of the crisis of the masculine, constitute a new topos to think the difference between the sexes in contemporary culture. The study proceeds with the idea, based on some of the main theories about the issue of difference nowadays, that we are not in a territory which is totally anchored by ‘masculine domination’, neither in one characterized by total ‘indifference’. A new possibility of differentiation arises, and with it, a new sketch of the feminine.
