INFLUENCE OF THE DISJOINING PRESSURE ON THE CRITICAL CONDITIONS FOR THE REALIZATION OF THE INSTABILITY OF A CHARGED LIQUID SURFACE
Abstract
We consider the effect of the disjoining pressure on the critical conditions for the realization of the instability of a charged liquid surface. The evolution of the surface of a charged layer of liquid is theoretically analyzed. In addition, it is proved that when the thickness of the liquid layer on a solid substrate is reduced to a value on the order of 100 nm, the effect of the disjoining pressure becomes very significant.
