K.P. POBEDONOSTSEV ON THE SPIRITUAL COMPONENT OF THE THANATOLOGICAL DISCOURSE

Abstract

This article deals with the problem of thanatological discourse on the material of literary and journalistic works of K.P. Pobedonostsev. The book “Eternal memory” by K.P. Pobedonostsev is considered in the context of his historical and philosophical compositions and correspondence with Emperor Alexander III. K. P. Pobedonostev’s descriptions of near-death experiences and death itself in his creative activities are largely determined by his outlook and spiritual experience gained in the tradition of the Church. The research reveals the specificity of the influence, which a certain historical era has, on the formation of the ideas about the human values of everyday life. Besides, the ability of a person with his own system of spiritual and moral coordinates to form a spiritual and life space around him is clarified in the research.
