The aim of the study is to identify the ideals and functions of scientific and technical romanticism as a philosophical trend and the phenomenon of domestic political culture. Based on the methods of comparative analysis, as well as on the use of T. Parsons’ systemic approach, the author conducts a study of the ideals of scientific and technical romanticism in their comparison with traditional values and other common value systems. The result of the study is the identification of the ideals and functions of scientific and technical romanticism, among which adaptation, integration, goal-setting and the formation of latent samples are of paramount importance. The relevance of the study of the scientific and technical romanticism phenomenon is in its axiological aspect, due to the emergence in recent decades of modern science requests for the synthesis of rational and irrational ways of understanding reality, which found special spread.
