Land transport services - service structure and development dynamics analysis

Abstract

The transport sector is a diverse structure, tasked with satisfying the need for displace­ment on part of the economy and society. The purpose of this article is to analyze the Polish land transportation sector in the scope of identifying, the segments of services, changes in the service offer, and to identify the development dynamics. For the purpose of completing this task, explana­tion has been provided, of the basic branching structure of the land transportation sector, wherein subsectors have been discerned. Furthermore, distinctive types and features of services have been indicated, provided by the various subsectors, and the task-based characteristics thereof has been prepared. The article also includes an analysis concerning the determination of the volume of trans­port completed under land transport throughout the last 10 years. The issues of the article and delib­erations present therein, confirm the need to carefully monitor changes occurring in all transport subsystems. The main value of the article is the indication of the main segments of services of the Polish land transport sector.
