Arłamów at Przemyskie Foothills is one of the best well known resorts in Podkarpackie Province. Its history dates back to old communist times. For years it was a restricted area, available only for VIP’s of that times. After 1989 it was somewhat forgotten and needed renovation. When the new owner showed up with some capital, the period of significant investments started. Those actions were widely discussed in local tourist industry. Many doubted in its economical success. However, currently it is one of the most up-to-date resorts in Podkarpackie Province among guests from Poland and abroad. “Remarkable hotel in a magnificent place” – this is one of the most common opinions about the resort. The main aim of this article is to present changes which occurred in Arłamów resort and their influence on tourism. Research shows that investment in rebuilding was a good idea. To start with the number of guests has increased (from the average of 5570 during the years 1999–2009 to over 33 000 in 2014) and % of room bookings has gone up (from 34,7% during the years 2005–2009 to 50,8% in 2014, and even 85,2% in July of 2014). Luxury of four star hotel has been successfully connected with wilderness of Przemyskie Foothills. Surprisingly, some elements which were connected with communism times remained (for example: Lech Walesa room) and have become a tourist attraction. At the same time SPA area was enlarged as well as other recreation facilities.
