THE CASE OF THE SCRIPALS AS AN INFORMATION WARFARE OPERATION

Abstract

This article is devoted to the detailed analysis of the technological component of the information war operation, known as “the case of poisoning Sergey and Julia Skripal”. It has been established that The Case of the Scripals consists of two stages; each of them is based on two different schemes. The first stage of this information operation (which lasted from March 4 till March 22, 2018) was organized according to the classical “game with step-by-step rate increase” scheme. The second stage of the Scripals case began on September 5, 2018 with the publication by the UK criminal police interim report on the preliminary results of the investigation of the incident in Salisbury. It is based on the scheme that also has its code name: “Wolf Hunting”.
