Initially, the activities to carry the works belonging to Turkic-Islamic literature to people in Cossack Turkish attracts the attention that literate folk poets attained the facility of printing press from the beginning of XIX century. In parallel with this situation, the foundation of modern Cossack literature are laid with the works that intellectuals graduating from madrassas giving education with Usul-ü Cedit (Modern Method) put forward in Cossack-Russian schools. During this process, it is possible to see the effect of Ottoman press on both parties. We see that some works in the form of folk tales and menakıpname published in Istanbul spread throughout the region over Kazan and that they were rewritten in Cossack Turkish. On the other hand, the second group was in the effort of supporting the enlightening period and education reforms started by them with works printed in Istanbul about different fields.
