Abstract

Early warning system plays an important role for crisis management in SMEs, in particular relating to the detection of weak signals from the external and internal environment, which allows the prediction and prevention of crisis situations in the company. The article discusses an early warning system and its functions, the procedure for implementing an early warning system, and describes the process of detection of warning signals. It also presents the results of studies that show that the majority of small enterprises do not use any warning tool, while the number of companies which apply warning tools increases with the size of the company.
