Scène exposée, tableau soustrait: “Carré blanc” d’Yves Ravey
Abstract
In his 2003 play titled "Carré blanc", Yves Ravey launches into the monologue of an art enthusiast who incessantly talks about Kazimir Malevich’s painting with the same title. However, the painting is not shown on the scene and the reference to an invisible painting enables him to comment paradoxically on the meaning of art and the very technique of quotation.
