Editorial

Abstract

Dedicated to advancing the field of electron devices through open-access publication, the Journal of the Electron Devices Society (J-EDS) has made great strides since its inception in 2013. Thanks to the collective efforts of all stake holders, including past and present editors-in-chief (EIC), the Editorial Boards, reviewers, authors and members of the community, J-EDS has achieved an impressive Journal Impact Factor of ~2.3, which is close to the ~3.1 for the Transactions on Electron Devices with a significantly longer history of publication. It is indeed a great honor to be appointed the next EIC, following the successful tenure of Prof. Enrico Sangiorgi as the EIC since 2020, and who has skilfully steered J-EDS through the difficult years of the COVID pandemic, advanced the journal to its best shape since its inception, and graciously passed me advice on the business of being an EIC.
