Abstract
Gas chromatography often uses helium, hydrogen, and nitrogen as carrier gases. The most common carrier gas is helium since it provides good separations, is inert, and is safe to use. In recent years, the availability of helium has decreased and its cost has increased significantly. So, it is necessary to choose a suitable substitution.
