There were considerable differences amoug all 2011 varieties studied, three weeks after achieving full maturity. Values of germination energy varied from 69-93 %. Post-harvest maturation was the slowest in the varieties Aksamit and Radegast. Germination energy nine weeks after achieving full maturity was at least 97 %. In the following period the differences among the varieties were more pronounced in germination rate or germination index. The differences among the varieties 9 and 12 weeks after achieving full maturity were within of 10 % in germination rate or one unit in germination index. The varieties Bojos, Tolar, Xanadu, Radegast, Sebastian, and Aktiv completed post harvest maturation as the first. Variability of germination energy and traits describing the intensity of germination was significantly affected by a locality. The variety affected the variability of germination rate and germination index for the whole period of the study in the range from 21 to 42 %.There were considerable differences amoug all 2011 varieties studied, three weeks after achieving full maturity.
