[Introduction] Large-scale new energy penetration is an important feature of the new power system. There is a certain contradiction between the high proportion of new energy consumption and the safe, economical and efficient operation of power system. From the point of view of the overall economy of the system, this study puts forward a calculation method of the reasonable consumption rate of new energy transmission. [Method] This method aimed to minimize the incremental total cost of new energy access, comprehensively considered the cost of power grid consumption, the cost of new energy abandonment and environmental protection, and systematically studied the key influencing factors of reasonable consumption rate. [Result] The effectiveness of this method is verified by practical examples of offshore wind power, onshore wind power and photovoltaic, and the general rules of reasonable consumption rate and selection of new energy transmission scheme are summarized by concentrated exploration of multiple examples. [Conclusion] The proposed method provides a new idea for power grid planning with high proportion of new energy access in the future, and provides an important reference for guiding the follow-up new energy access system and dispatching operation.
