Bulk Local One-Particle States of Quasi-Particles in Quasi-Zero-Dimensional
Abstract
The results of theoretical and experimental investigations of bulk local states of quasi-particles (an electron and a hole) appearing in the bulk of semiconductor spherical quantum dots under the condition of strong polarization interaction between the charge carriers and the quantum-dot surface are reviewed. As shown, there are low-lying oscillator-type states in the spectrum of bulk local states. As revealed, the bulk local states in quantum dots are stable (with a life cycle of ≅ 0.1 s).
