The study of landscape patterns in the context of carbon neutrality can significantly influence regional carbon emissions. Also at stake is the effectiveness of global ecological protection. The researchers used Cite Space visualization software to analyze 7758 documents related to the Web of Science Core Collection database. The period was 2001 to 2024. The results of the study show that: (1) research in this field can be divided into three periods: germination(2001–2007), fluctuation(2008–2019), and rapid development(2019–2024). The core authors are Li Wei, Wang Kai, and Liu Yang. (2) Through in-depth analyses of research in this field, we have found that the study of landscape patterns in the context of carbon neutrality is interdisciplinary. For example, it is closely related to the disciplines of environmental science, energy and fuels, green and sustainable science and technology, and environmental studies. (3) Changes in keywords of landscape pattern research in the context of carbon neutrality in the same period. The main research directions include Carbon dioxide, Optimization, Management, etc. The frontier areas include carbon neutrality, CO2 emissions, carbon emission, etc. The future research directions include environmental quality, environmental regulations, urban agglomeration, etc.
