THE FORMER RIVER BOY AND OTHER STORIES
Abstract
Seen here as a historical and cultural artifact, the jugs were constantly reinvented by various traditions, among them the treasures left by the Dutch during the colonial period and the fortunes hidden by plantation owners. This article intends to discuss on the narratives those enchanted wealth, which remain to contemporaneity, allowing fantastic dimension to think that constitutes the life of its believers, as they express their desires and their world views, which reveal social tensions, reuddated from new battlefields.
