Institutul Național de Cercetare-Dezvoltare în Silvicultură “Marin Drăcea”: 85 de ani de cercetare silvică instituționalizată în România [“Marin Drăcea” National Research-Development Institute in Forestry - 85 years of forestry research in Romania]

Abstract

The paper presents an overview of the International Conference ”Forest Science for a Sustainable Forestry and Human Wellbeing in a Changing World”, dedicated to the 85th anniversary of ”Marin Drăcea” National Research-Development Institute in Forestry. The conference was organized with the support of IUFRO, ICP Forests, Ministry of Research and Inovation, Romanian Academy and ”Gheorghe Ionescu” Academy of Forest and Agricultural Sciences, with a large participation of people from foreign and Romanian research institutes. In the second day was visited a natural protected area close to Bucharest, with Fagus sp., while in the last day a commemorative moment of Marin D. Drăcea, the founder of the Institute was presented. A short history of the institute is also included.
