Public Nature of the Local Self-Government in the Russian Federation

Abstract

In this article authors consider various approaches to determining political and legal nature of the local self-government in the Russian Federation, including social basis of local self-government. In the conclusion authors note that territorial bodies of the public self-government (TOS) are an element of the civil society, which in turn ensures an independent decision by the society of vital issues without government intervention.
