Multitemporal study of deforestation in Colombia using image processing
Abstract
Generating reliable information about the distribution and uses of forests is a valuable input for estimating deforestation rates and degraded areas in a country. The objective of this article is to review the work carried out in Colombia, which used the processing of aerial or satellite images, for the study of deforestation in different years. Of the 20 works reviewed, 6 were prepared by government institutions, 16 of them used images from sensors located on space platforms and the remaining 4 correspond to the use of digital aerial photography.
